I am getting more concerned about Japan’s constant increase in power. I heard the news that they invaded China yesterday. If Japan continues to grow rapidly in power, it can be a threat to the United Nations. So, the leaders of United States had a big meeting about what actions we should take for the increasing power of Japan. If we let Japan keep on getting powers and invading other nations, then one day, it would be a great threat to the United States. I personally think that we should take some actions to prevent Japan from getting to much power. However, it shouldn’t be a military action. I think it should be a political or economical action so that the United States doesn’t go to war.

Anyways, as the Senator of Missouri, my main concern is the happiness of the people of Missouri and the wealth of this state. Today was a tiring day in the office. Ever since I won the election in becoming the Senator of Missouri and won it, my life had changed dramatically. I couldn’t spend as much time as I used to with my family. I was always busy and at work. During the first several months, it was a very hard time for me because everything went so fast. After two years of being in the office, I got quite used to the environment and now I am fully adapted. Today I am planning to leave the office early and spend some quality time with my family.

When I got home, my beautiful wife Bess Wallace and daughter Mary were waiting for me. My wife had prepared the best spaghetti in the whole wide world. After dinner, Bess, Mary and I went outside for a stroll in the park near my house. It was a beautiful day in Missouri. Sunny and clear day, which was the perfect day for a picnic. Unfortunately, it was getting dark so we decided to go on a picnic next time. After we came back home, I read the newspaper. Most of the articles were about the war and political stuff. However, I didn’t want to worry about those stressing events even when I was at home. At home I wanted to be peaceful and relax. So I put the newspaper away and had some more quality time with my family.

A very tragic event happened yesterday on December 7, 1941. I knew from long ago we shouldn’t have let those Japanese gain so much power with all their annexations. Numerous Japanese planes came to the Pearl Harbor on a Sunday when all men were asleep and attacked it by dropping hundreds of bombs. We lost numerous ships, planes and brave men. This is unacceptable. We should beat the heck out of Japan and show them that they have messed with the wrong people. The citizens of United States as well as Franklin D. Roosevelt will not this action that Japan had taken on us and we will make them regret it. They have messed with the strongest nation in the whole wide world and soon they will know why we are called the strongest nation. People are raging for war and revenge against the United States. Soon, the United States will also be involved in the war. We will definitely take military actions against Japan. They will pay much worse consequences for what they have done to us.

After the attack, there was a serious debate among the leaders of United States to discuss about what specifically they should do for this attack. I am most worried about the people of the United States and especially my family. If we go to war, then nowhere in America would be safe with all that bombing and fighting. Thousands of innocent civilians would get killed and my family might also be the victims. However, if we don’t go to war, then the Japanese would keep on pissing us off and the war would never end. We need to make the Japanese surrender. So even though it hurts to say, the ultimate and the best decision would be beat the heck out of Japan so that they don’t mess with the United States. If Japan is defeated, then we no longer have to worry about Japanese invading our country and best of all, I won’t have to worry about my family being killed from the bombings.

Yesterday I heard the most tragic news in my life: the death of President Frank D. Roosevelt. It was an honor to serve President Roosevelt, and I wish I could get to know him better, but he had to go... to a more peaceful place than this world. He was no doubt, the greatest president of American history. I will be attending his funeral which will be held tomorrow where all the citizens of the United States would be in sorrow. Though his physical body would be gone from this world, his soul, his achievements, and he as a person will always be remembered, recognized and stored in history and in our hearts. May your soul rest peacefully in heaven, honorable President Frank D. Roosevelt.

The sudden demise of President Roosevelt, or should I say, former President Roosevelt has affected me and the country dramatically. It has only been three months since I first came in the office as the Vice President of the United States. It is required by the United States law that when a president is not available for some reason, the vice president has the right to all of his authorities and commands and he is in charge. Therefore, following the law, I became the president of the United States. However, this tragic event has left me a tremendous amount of pressure to endure, a huge burden to carry, and numerous problems to solve. It was a bittersweet moment, because although I became the president, the citizens of the United States desperately needs former President Frank D. Roosevelt to protect and save them from the war and I feel like I am not in need right now. As much as I am confused and clueless of what I should do, I must not show this weakness to the people of America for I need to act strong outside to calm their anxious minds. That is the role of the president... I am the 33rd President of the United States, I must act like one. I can no longer rely on anyone. I must have others rely on me. I am the President of the United States, and I won’t let my people down in this hard time!

Some very serious debates and discussions have been taking place in the past several months after my promotion. The decision between whether or not we should bomb Japan with our newest weapon, the atomic bomb. I think the decision is going towards dropping the bomb on Japan, Hiroshima. As the president, I have the final decision whether to allow this bombing or not. We strongly warned Japan that they will pay for what they have done to our soldiers and navies in Pearl Harbor. Japan needs to be beaten up and taught a lesson or else it is constantly going to grow in terms of power and be unstoppable. Dropping this atomic bomb isn’t the only solution to end this war and stop Japan. We, the President of the National Government of the Republic of China, the Prime Minister of Great Britain and myself, tried to pass the Potsdam Declaration back in July to end this war peacefully, but Japan refused to negotiate. Japan is forcing us to lead the decision towards bombing the country. Not to mention the $20 billion [today’s value 21st century] that was spent in developing the bomb. It would be a waste of money to just let it go.

It is quite unfortunate, to live in this time period of world and be the ultimate decision maker who would be responsible for thousands of innocent lives. I am going through so many thoughts on this very decision. Innocent civilians will be the victims for the foolish choices made by the Japanese government. But then again, the people are supporting the government and if we don’t stop Japan right now, my people would be the victims and I cannot let that happen no matter what. Anyone who supports the enemy is also our enemy, so technically, the people of Japan are also our enemy. In addition, if we don’t stop Japan right now, more people will be kill in the distant future because they will go around the world and colonize many nations and many innocent people will die in that process. As a result, I can justify my decision of allowing to drop the atomic bomb in Hiroshima as it will save more people in the end.
